a5c7b9f00b A gang of ex-cons rob a casino during Elvis convention week. It was an ingenious enough plan: rob the Riviera Casino's count room during an Elvis impersonator convention. But Thomas Murphy decided to keep all the money for himself and shot all his partners, including recently-freed ex-con Michael Zane. With $3.2 million at stake, the Marshals Service closing in, and single mom Cybil Waingrow and her son Jesse constantly confounding things, Michael must track down Murphy. I was really excited to see this movie because it was filmed in the

town where I lived at the time. I actually saw Courtney Cox Arquette

in person (she is a lot skinner in real life) and sometimes we

weren't allowed to cross the street because filming was going on.

And all the stores names were changed for awhile. But the plot

wasn't really that great. The acting was okay, but the movie was a

bit boring. Lots of blood, guts, and disrespect for authority, but not only aimless violence. The film is a good action thriller and features Kevin Costnera really violent psychotic badass who is neither liked nor disliked by the viewer. There's something disturbing about guys dressed up like The King committing dastardly and bloodthirsty acts of violence. It was almostdisturbingthe Silent Night series in the mid-80's where Santa wielded more than just a bag of toys. But seriously, Kevin Costner is brilliantthe badguy in this hit and run chase film, and even though about 3/4 of the way through you realize the movie is reeaaaally long, somehow its worth viewing. An odd mix of seediness, sideburns and even scorpions, the movie nearly matches the Lisa Marie-Michael Jackson marriage for weirdness.
